In Celtic Folklore, there is a story called How the Wren became King. A story of a tiny wren that challenged and outsmarted the eagle to be King of birds. The story is in the link below. While in the marsh the other day, documenting the growth of the red tail hawk chick, I witnessed the Wren and the Eagle story marsh style! The red tail parents holler most of the time, letting the chick know they are there. It could be because of me as well, but I hear them well before I get halfway to the marsh. As I stand observing and listening, the hawks are in the distance but I can't see them. But that day, after I announced that I was leaving and thanked the marsh, the hawk flew into my view. I snapped a few pictures between the big trees. I slowly moved to a more open spot by the water edge. Then I saw a flutter and heard the hawk screech. I snapped more pics. Suddenly, the hawk screeched and took off and the bird did as well. The scene that followed was incredible, I didn't know if the pictures would be good but you can see the story unfold. I thought of the Wren and the Eagle story. I assumed the little bird was one of the swallows, to my surprise, it was not. The black and white bird is an Eastern King Bird. My heart is so raw right now, tears for our fellow human beings fall daily. I analyze my past to see what actions I may have done, unknowingly, that has added to this current climate. Experiencing this wildlife event has given me such hope. I feel so very strongly that the hawk is representative of racism/white supremacy, so large and powerful. The King Bird, a determined protective creature, whose colors amazingly are black and white. The King Bird chased that hawk in relentless pursuit. Riding its back and pecking away at the creature that is such a threat. My raw heart is so hopeful, I know THIS moment in time is the most important in my life. I'm watching love in action as there are protests, people finally beginning to listen and people coming together. There is so much more to do. The King Bird says don't give up, keep love in the forefront of every action, every thought, every decision. We are One. One People. One Race. One Love. Peace. www.heartfeltspiritualguidance.com www.clipclocks.com
The other day at the marsh, I had a beautiful moment of absolute peace. The beauty of the photo and the ease that the little damselfly sent me was palpable. I'm sure many of you entering a church or other sacred spot gives you the same feeling. I wish you all many moments like that today. May you see something of absolute beauty, of surprise and of physical and emotional ease. Good things are coming. Dragonflies and Damselfly's are most often lumped into the same Spiritual meaning. As I went with my heartfelt feelings of the message and a little research I share with you these words... Dragonflies can reach speeds of up to 30 miles per hour when flying and while doing so, spot movement forty feet away. Like the hummingbird, zipping around from different angles. I'm feeling the message today is to challenge the rigid awareness of change. Encourage change. Are you feeling stuck? Or are feeling you are unable to grow spiritually and that has blocked your creativity and openness. Our daily physical reality isn’t all there is. Dragonfly/Damselfly's colorful, lightweight fairy like wings remind us, if we are willing to see, that we live in a world of magic. www.heartfeltspiritualguidance.com www.clipclocks.com
Ego is a very strong thing. It's your opponent throughout your life. It causes heartache, anger, judgment, alienation and every other negative that you can think of. In order to have peace in your heart and your life, one needs to release that voice that constantly is heard in your head. The ego remembers things that happened to you and your ancestors. Ego is an energy and as you know energy affects everything. As we go about our day, the energies affect us. Things that we see and hear may trigger things that upset us, whether we know why or not. If your thoughts go to a judgment or if they go to a place of sadness, that may be part of the energy of our ancestors. Their experiences and their beliefs influence us. As these current energies are very intense and are making people uncomfortable, I ask you to take a moment to think about your level of uncomfortable. Is it really how you think and feel? Or is it a reactionary response coming from actions and words of those who came before us influencing? The things that are happening now are trying to move everyone to a higher and greater vibration. A vibration of acceptance, support, equality and love. So I have thought about a few things in my experience and what I plan to do so I can break the cycle of ego that I may hold or may be coming from my ancestors. Jokes about Ethnicity and Color - I heard Polish jokes my whole life. I always would laugh at the Polish jokes, being part of my heritage and being young I took it as oddly enough, pride. But Polack is a derogatory term and means stupid. I received an award in school as the Class Polack. I know it was given in love. I still view it as a gesture of love. But to help with a more unified loving world, I will not share Polack/Ethnic jokes that propagate a negative generalization. Now, I also heard jokes and sayings about people of color my whole life. When I got to be a teenager I did call out people and would state my disdain. I remember rhymes that were just horrid and what I fear the most about that is that if, heaven forbid, I experience dementia or some other brain failing event, these rhymes and jokes will fly out of my mouth. Why do I fear that? I fear it because I experienced those things with folks I've worked with who had dementia or strokes. They had no control over it because it was in their memory. I called out an elder recently, who doesn't have dementia, as to their words. I lovingly offered a more open minded view, trying to teach empathy. I believe I planted a seed. So to help with a more unified loving world, I will pray that my acknowledgement of these things, that have hurt so many for so long, will help heal the energies that have continued to be fed for all these years. People heal by being heard. Acknowledging a wrong is not a sign of weakness nor a sign of guilt. Acknowledging a wrong and doing what you can to stop the continuation of that wrong, no matter what it is, is silencing the ego so that love and peace can be attained. Dragonfly Release old perceptions, change is inevitable and with Dragonfly’s help you will be able to change course without fear or anger. Dragonfly is also a sign that an Angel or loved one is near assisting you at this time. Be sure to thank them! www.clipclocks.com www.heartfeltspiritualguidance.com
